Blog Post #4: Infographic Pitch

Cell phones and social media are very important in today’s world. Within seconds, we can get in touch with another person thousands of miles away. Social media helps us stay connected with distant relatives and friends that we may not get to see very often. However, people are becoming aware of the possible harms that social media may have on young children and teenagers as they are becoming more reliant on their cellphones.

For my infographic, I’d like to explore and evaluate the influence of social media and cell phones on teenagers and young adults. Through the use of ethos, pathos, and logos, I will not only argue a specific viewpoint of the issue, but I will emphasize the exigence of the issue and the issue itself. I plan to design my infographic to mimic a social media site like Twitter, Instagram, and/or Facebook. Familiar to many, this design will not only appeal to the audience but it will emphasize how much of an impact social media has in our everyday lives. I plan to include statistics in the form of twitter polls, Facebook pages, Instagram posts, etc.

As an avid social media user, myself, I not only know a lot about the topic of social media but I have a strong opinion on the issue. With this advantage, I can use my passion to strengthen the argument of my infographic. Also, with a lot of interest and information on the topic, I will be able to complete the infographic by October 27th.
